I bit the bullet!

Picture taken with my new Canon T3i

I have been drooling over the Canon Rebel T3i for a while now! The reviews have been fantastic and the pictures look amazing!
Well being an online seller, my pictures were always sucky! (I'm not sure that's a word, but it's the best one to describe my pictures!)
I started on my Project Life and as I was printing off my pictures the quality was terrible! The pictures are too dark and some are not in proper focus.
This lead me to Best Buy online! They were running a great sale on their Canon camera kits and I bit the bullet and ordered one! It took 2 days to arrive which was amazing!
I bought the
EOS Rebel T3i with 18-55mm
Canon Speedlite 320EX Flash
EFS 55-250 lens

It all came as a bundle! I'm not sure how to use any of this stuff and thankfully I do not have to run around today, so I was able to set up the camera and take a picture or two.

I'm in love!
It was expensive, but I think that my business and kids are worth it.

I'm already thinking that the macro lens, a carrying case and a remote controller are in my future!

I hope to be able to bring better quality pictures to my business as well as my life!

Valentine's Day 2012

You know when when you have an idea of a project and the conception seems awesome, but when you actually go to do the project your like what the fu#4!

This was me with my 6 year old Valentines day gifts for her class!

I loved the idea, and it seemed sweet and easy, but the actual completion of the project was a bitch!

I think part of the problem is that I'm sick and the last thing on my mind was let's complete 24 Valentine's day gifts for my daughters class.

I was in bed at 7:00pm with my DH and as we were talking about our day I said "Oh shit! I have to finish B's Valenines Gifts"
My hubby is so sweet, he heard me hacking up a lung as asked if I would like his help!
Well it was a simple print and asembley job in my mind, and I said "No thanks honey, I've got this!"
Can I tell you that 3 hours later, I don't have this!

This project involved so many steps that I can't think straight, and becuase I'm a perfectionist it took way too long!

I am all about presentation, and if I'm packaging a stick of gum, it's going to be the best packaged stick of gum that you've ever received!

I love the look of my daughter's Valentine's gifts, I just wish that I was not sick, and it did not take me so long to assemble!

Enjoy!

EtsyGreetings Valentine's Day Blog Hop: Etsy Love

Love is in the air!
February is the month of love, with the 14th, which is Valentine's Day, being the official day.

A few members of the EtsyGreetings team are participating in a blog hop, so please be sure to view the blog before and after my post.

Love day is soon upon us and what better gift for your loved one, besides chocolate, diamonds or power tools, but a simple yet meaningful greeting card!

This is not to say that I don't fancy me some sparkling diamonds, but I would settle for this little gem from this wonderful Etsy seller All Things Tinsel

Vintage Enamel Flower Necklace Bib Statement

This necklace is big and bold and full of color and I'm sure that many lovely ladies would love to receive this as a Valentine's Day gift. Paired with my Valentine's Day card that says "Be Mine", when you give her this necklace I'm sure she would be yours forever!

Happy 2012!

Kitchen bar chair that is being fixed and recovered!

Well I must say that I'm shocked and surprised that it is already January 24th!
Where does the time go!

I have been quite busy with organization and home and shop clean up.

There has been many projects within my home that I've needed to address and I've finally gotten off my tuckas and started getting them done. I'm proud to say that I am now the owner of some artwork that is finally covering my walls. I am also in the process of having my kitchen 4 kichen bar chairs reparied and recovered. These may seem like minor things to the average Joe, but these are milestones in my books as I've been staring at these unsightly things for 7 (yes 7!) years! There are many more fix ups and clean up in the works!

On the shop front, I'm slowly trying to orgainze my supplies and studio, which seems to be a never ending process, but I've come to the realization that I'm a hoarder-in-training and I must do something about it NOW!

The focus of my shop has changed over the past 5 years and alot of supplies that I use to use are no longer relevant to me and I need to rid myself of them. The problem that I face is that alot of these items are still new in the package and I just can not bear to throw them out. I need to find a suitable solution soon, otherwise I'll never get them out of my spaces! Yes I said spaces.
My solution to my clutter problem is to spend an hour a day decluttering one room at a time. This sounds easier that it is, let me tell you!
I decided to start this on Monday and I'm already behind! So today I figure I need to spend 2 hours today and try and tackle 2 rooms!
My goal is to have my house decluttered within 1 month!
I wish the days were 26 hours long instead of just 24! Well hell I don't need to sleep for the next month!
