Kitchen bar chair that is being fixed and recovered!

Well I must say that I'm shocked and surprised that it is already January 24th!
Where does the time go!

I have been quite busy with organization and home and shop clean up.

There has been many projects within my home that I've needed to address and I've finally gotten off my tuckas and started getting them done. I'm proud to say that I am now the owner of some artwork that is finally covering my walls. I am also in the process of having my kitchen 4 kichen bar chairs reparied and recovered. These may seem like minor things to the average Joe, but these are milestones in my books as I've been staring at these unsightly things for 7 (yes 7!) years! There are many more fix ups and clean up in the works!

On the shop front, I'm slowly trying to orgainze my supplies and studio, which seems to be a never ending process, but I've come to the realization that I'm a hoarder-in-training and I must do something about it NOW!

The focus of my shop has changed over the past 5 years and alot of supplies that I use to use are no longer relevant to me and I need to rid myself of them. The problem that I face is that alot of these items are still new in the package and I just can not bear to throw them out. I need to find a suitable solution soon, otherwise I'll never get them out of my spaces! Yes I said spaces.
My solution to my clutter problem is to spend an hour a day decluttering one room at a time. This sounds easier that it is, let me tell you!
I decided to start this on Monday and I'm already behind! So today I figure I need to spend 2 hours today and try and tackle 2 rooms!
My goal is to have my house decluttered within 1 month!
I wish the days were 26 hours long instead of just 24! Well hell I don't need to sleep for the next month!

Dollhouse Update 3

Well the painters came today, did a quick first coat on the upper floors, mumbled, complained and then claimed that this shit was too hard, and left.

In their defense, it was 5am and the rooms were pretty dark.

I hope they come back! I miss them!

Well my designer is coming today and hopefully we can hit the store and find some really cool items that won't break the bank.

Dollhouse Update 2

original color is a mahogany and I'm painting the pieces white and black for now!

Okay this shit is hard, and expensive!
I was thinking dollhouse, miniature, easy peasy.
It is fun, time consuming, exhausting, oh and did I mention hard!

With me being a full time mom to two little girls and wife to one big boy, finding time between hockey practice, homework, school, swim lessons, keeping up with the house and running my own business, has been hard work!

There are so many amazing tutorials, blogs and websites dedicated to miniatures, I can't wrap my head around the direction that I want my house to go!

I made a budget for each room, and I think I blew that with my first few online purchases. (pics to come once they arrive)

I was however able to find some really inexpensive pieces that I think will work well in the house for now.

Dollhouse Challenge Update 1

interior wallpaper needs to go, but I may keep the floors, they are in good shape, I really want to tile the entranceway!

little broken piece that needs to be fixed or I may see about taking down the wall and fix up the stairs

master bedroom which will be perfect for me to put in a kick ass closet!

Well my house has arrived! I'm super excited to get started right away, but I must pace myself, there is quite a bit of work that needs to be done first.

My kids were super excited to play with the house when it arrived but I politely told them to BACK OFF!

The overall bones of the house are excellent but it does need some work, there's a kitchen that's just way to small for entertaining, the wallpaper needs a fresh look and the exterior needs some curb appeal, but I feel that I'm on top of things. I've hired a contractor (me), a designer (me) and a painter (me)! So I feel that I'm ready to start with the de-construction of the house.

This house is a lot bigger than I would have thought, and although it only technically has 4 rooms, they are pretty big and there are so many other rooms that I want to incorporate that I need to figure out how to section off some rooms but still make it accessible for play, or do I???

My plans are to have a bedroom (or two) a living room/library, a dining room, kitchen, wrapping/craft room (how can I not) and a bathroom.

New Houses

I may have bought a new house today! I know what your thinking, "WTF!$%"

You know how it is, you go into the markeplace just looking, then something catches your eye, and you feel you MUST have it, this is the one for me!

Well it was not quite like that with me, I've been searching and searching. I wanted the 10 room house, excluding bathrooms of course! My house would have a library maybe two because I love to read!, great room, dining room in which to feed 20 people or more, a walk in closet to rival Marah Carey's, a wrapping room, a man's den, a media room, a games room, a sitting room just becuase, you see where this is going. I would need a whole lot of other rooms, that I did not know about but I'm not sure how I ever lived without them.

Well it turns out that I can't afford that mansion in the sky, bummer!

For now I'm going to have to settle for my little diamond in the rough.

I'm unsure of the square footage, I have no idea how many bathrooms it has, I think that it only has 4 rooms, it needs a bit of work in the inside, who am I kidding, it needs a LOT of TLC, but I'm excited to transform it into my dream home!

BTW did I mention that this was a dollhouse!

Yes that's right, you heard me correctly, a dollhouse, and I could not be more excited!

I'm joining the movement, Emily Henderson has a fantastic idea to bring bloggers together to build a home in miniature. I've loved minitatures for a while now and have always wanted an excuse to lavish my two daughters with there very own play house and here is my chance to get them started.

2012 Desk Calendar

Well I'm not sure how I this happened, but I've finally completed my 2012 Desktop Calendar!

I've been wanting to do one for about 2 years now, and I always found that I did not have the time well I think that I was just too lazy to devote the time to create one!

When I went on vacation in July, I took it upon myself to at least start with an outline of what I wanted to create and voila, 3 months later, it's complete!

I'm very proud of my first entry into the desk calendar world, and I love it and personally can't wait to use it on my own desk.

Hey everyone! Spring is in the air and that means Spring Cleaning, which really means to me that it's time for a new beginning.
It's been quite a while since I've been posting and it's been a crazy 3 months!
There's been quite a bit of mix up in my household which has kept me from blogging, creating and keeping in touch!

We've had some personal issues that have rocked us to the core but we are recovering and are trying to move on!

I have 2 birthday parties to plan within the next 2 months and that has kept me super busy!
I was planning on doing updates of the one party, but it's proving to be sapping every ounce of energy out of me, so I may just do one or two blogs about it.

April is going to be very busy for me with so many personal issues that are coming up, but I think that I'm going to embark on a 30 day challenge for April and start getting my business back on track!
I have so many new items and ideas I think that embarking on a challenge will help me keep on track!

I've been ignoring both my shop and blog for so long, I thought that it was time that I did something about it! I'm embarking on a mission to increase both my sales as well as get noticed. Below is how I hope to acheive this.

A Newsletter: I've already put my plan in motion by completing my first newsletter! I'm super excited that this is completed, it was fun and super simple to put together and I'm really pleased with how my first issue turned out. Now I just need more subscribers (hint hint!)

My Shop: I'm committing for the month of June to list new items until I reach 50-75 items and once that is completed I'll just keep trying to keep my items at the top of the list by renewing them! I've set the amount at 50-75 items, because I'm not sure that I can create any more than that within the month, if I do than I'll keep listing away otherwise I will resort to renewing. I have a lot of new products that I'll be rolling out as well as a few more in my head that just needs me to figure out how I'm going to express them.

Marketing and Promotion: This is a tough one as this takes up the most amount of time and when doing online marketing and promotion, it' best to not do this all at once. I've rediscovered my love for linkrefferal, it's super easy to do, a bit time consuming but I know that I'm guarrentted that a few people will actually have a look at my shop and hopefully one day soon it will turn into a sale! I'm also going to try to be a bit more active in the Etsy forums, there is a wealth of information there and I do enjoy the discussions. I've begun to give my business cards to my friends, I know that this sounds odd, but I really do not like to push myself on my friends, I'd rather a good friend than a sale! I'm doing quite a bit of thank you cards as well as personalized stationery and this has been awesome as it has "forced" me to get back in the game and start designed some new items.

Budget: This indirectly will help my shop! I don't budget, I cringe when I hear the word, it's posion to me. Now with that being said I need to set money aside to elevate my shop to another level. I have not purchased much supplies this year, but I just placed an order for some cardstock and it got me thinking "how much do I want to spend on supplies this year?", and " should I be spending more money on marketing?" I need to have an answer to both these questions before I move on. With Christmas around the corner, yes I said it, I know! I need to think about if I need to order more cardstock for greeting cards, do I want to purchase more patterned paper or is my supply that I have at home enough. With regards to marketing, for now, my Etsy fees are my marketing, and frankly I don't think that I'm spending enough money, shocking I know! I don't know the answer to these questions, but I will soon.

For now I need to get these 3 areas under control and then I think that I will see the results that I want. Wish me luck!

Well it's finally done! I'm doing my happy dance right now!

I've completed my newsletter! I've been talking about doing this for years and after a few failed attempts, I think that I have a format and program that I like. I can't wait to see how this evolves over the next few issues. I'm unsure if I'll do this monthly or quarterly, we'll see how I'm able to manage my time.

Zodiac - Cancer

I've finally created and posted something new in my shop! Yeah Me!!!!!

I'm super thrilled about this card and I'm sure that I'm going to roll this out into being a new line of cards for my shop.

They are Zodiac cards! They will all be personalied with the characteristics of each Sign and I will try to match the embellishments with the birth stone of that month!

I started with Cancer and I love the way it turned out. I was able to incorporate so many features that make being born under the Moon special.

You may or may not know that the symbol for Cancer is the Crab, the ruling planet is the Moon, the color is silver and the starstone is the pearl, there are also some fantastic charactersistics that go along with being a Cancer as well as some not so great ones, but I've only included the good stuff!

The Big 5!

Well my daughter celebrated her 5th birthday party last weekend, and it was all about Hannah!

For those of you not in the know that's Hannah Montana!

I was able to convince her to have a pizza party and that turned out really well.

Everyone had a great time and it was really stress free which was nice!

I was quite pleased at the turn out of the favor boxes! They looked really striking on the table and I did get quite a bit of compliments on them which is always nice! A few of my items that I ordered from etsy did not arrive in time, but I blame myself for not thinking about the shipping time.......oh well I still think that they were pretty great!

Like the title says, well you know how it goes....

I'm not sure how or why I've neglected my blog for so long, but I'm back and hopefully I'll be able to keep posting more regularly! Life, Family and Whatnot keeps me pretty busy these days. My girls are growing up so fast, I don't want to miss one moment of it!

I have been in a creative slump for some time, but I've found my mojo and have designed quite a few new items. Not too many have made it to my shop yet, but I hope to change that very soon.

This is one item that I'm really proud of, Gerber Daisy Hair Accessories! These were originally made to hand out for my daughters 5th birthday loot bags, but after creating an endless amount of them, I ended up with quite a bit of excess stock so I decided to sell some in my shop! For now these are a limited item, so if I were you, I'd get one while I can.

They are a beautiful 4" silk gerber daisy attached to a no slip fabric covered hair clippie. These are so cute for your little girl and the perfect accessory for spring/summer.

My daughter and her friends drooled over these when they got them in their loot bags! It was a huge hit!

I have a few other colors in my shop and will be adding more soon!

Evolution of Tools-Corners

Well it seems like corners are my thing! I like the rounded corners on my greeting and note cards, it just gives them a bit of an edge that I love! Well my trusty corner rounder has been with me for years and years and it's never let me down. It's small and effective and I love it!

Well now it seems like my volume of cards and notecards has increased ten fold (yeah!) and I am in need of an "evolution" tool. The topic of corner rounders was brought up by my EtsyGreetings members and I now have a new tool which I must own!

NOW: Paper Gator

I am able to round paper, chipboard, cork board, foam and more. I can cut the corners of up to 100 sheets of #20 paper!!!!! (That's right I said 100!) And there's extra blades to adjust the corner size, how cool is that!

I don't yet own this tool yet as I am trying to hunt it down at my local crafts shops before I need to turn my sights online! I've only heard excellent things about this item and I look forward to owning it soon!

Evolution of Tools-Folds

When I first starting having to fold my cardstock by hand I could not figure out how to make a crisp crease! This boggled my mind for a long while until I was introduced to this miraculous tool

This fantastic item comes in 4 different sizes and is able to clearly mark the center of your paper in order to acheive a perfect center score each and every time. There is also little to no cracking of heavier cardstock. This was by far one of my favorite "evolution" purchases to date.

Evolution of Tools-Adhesive

I love tools! I love what I have and I love learning about new ones! It seems like there is something for everyone and if your lukcy, your favorite tool may have evolved and be easier to use. I will be showcasing some of my favorite tools over the next couple of days and the evolution.
I'm starting out today with an oldie but a goodie!

Well it's funny how times have changed, everything has gotten bigger and I think better, and a tad bit easier, Oh and did I mention bigger!

When I was creating greeing cards for my family and friends I would buy these at my local craft store two at a time because I was going through a TON of them. Now that I have entered the online selling world, I heard the whispers about a tool that no respectible crafter could live without! This is definatly an investment tool as the price tag is a bit steep ($45.00apprx.) but once you get the hang of installing the tape, it's a tool that is well worth the money.

Fall Vine Tags

Today we braved the weather and headed down to the Jazz festival! The day was threatening rain all day and thankfully it rained on our way down to the event, but once we got there the skies opened up and we had a few blue skies and dry weather. There was a few drizzles here and there but nothing that made us run for the hills.

We had a great time listening to music, enjoying some local food as well as walking around and seeing the sites.

There was a lot of really good local talent there. Shakura S'Aida really caught our attention and we ended up purchasing her CD Blueprint. I listened to it in the car and I really like her music. I'm already thinking of having a dinner party and having this great CD playing in the background.

Red and Blue Star Gift Tags

Today is the last day of camp for the week and I'm sortof glad that it's over!

I will not miss the early morning wake-up, getting two kids dressed and out the door in less than 5 min!, the traffic I loathe traffic!!!!!

I will miss getting my work-out done and out of the way by 10:30am. This is a big plus as I'm still trying to loose that last 10 pounds! I can't keep blaming the baby for my weight, she's 14 months now!

Today I re-listed my Red and Blue Star Gift Tags, I showed a picture of my new packaging of my gift tags and they also falls in line with my stickers.

Pink Flamingo Gift Tags

Today is hump day and I'm feeling like a lump! I had a great work out today but I'm really tired from having to out the door before 8:30am inorder to drop my daughter off at camp. Today I am really dragging my feet. You would hope that I would get used to the routine by now, but tomorrow is the last day of camp so I'll have a bit of a relief until I have to do it all over again next week.

Today again I have decided to re-list an item. I'm proving a bit busier than I though and I have many balls up in the air that are on the verge of falling if I don't catch them soon.

There is my studio make-over that I still need to complete, I have quite a few items that need to be photographed, of course I have a ton of new ideas in my head that I need to complete, as well there is the buzz about Christams, that's right you heard me correctly Christmas! I'm still in camp mode. I just need to take a deep breath and get cracking!

I've had a super busy weekend and today I needed to get my daughter off to camp so I really had no time to post a new listing, but I do love what I have re-listed. New Challenge Set to Start

Well it's time to start another challenge! I had such a great time doing it last time that I have decided to facilitate another round.

For those of you that are unfamiliar with this I'll explain what this is. It's called the

10/10/10 Challenge and was the brain child of Amanda aka little b bunny!

Vacation

I love going on vacation, it's so nice to get away and I love being able to focus all my attention on my family. We went up North to cottage country for a week and we stayed at a resort with plenty of kid activites. We had a fabulous time playing in the park, swimming in the pools and of course enjoying the great food. We really did nothing for the week other than lounge around and we started to feel guily about that but it only lasted for a moment and then we went back to lounging by the pool. The week went by way to fast, I'm already planning on where we'll go on our next vacation which I'm hoping will be before the end of the year.

I'm still scared!

I have not had a lot of time to get down and organize my mess in the basement, but I hope to be able to tackle it today!

I have been keeping up with Molly Lee's progress on her blog http://mollyleecards.blogspot.com and she has some found some really fabulous storage ideas from all places Good Will!

As you may know I don't have a budget for this makeover/cleanup but I love her Portable Crafting Kit! This would work wonders for me as my crafting stoarge area is dark, and in the basement, I'm always carrying everything that I need up to the kitchen to work. I went in search of a beautiful tray but I could not find one, but I did pick up this table top wooden storage rack. I've got a few ideas of what to do with it, but first I need to paint it out. It only cost me $$5 so I don't feel too guilty for breaking my non budget!

I hope to roll up my sleeves and start sorting and organizing so I can get back to what I love, crafting!

Well after a couple of hours of sorting and with the help of my 4 year old DD I was able to clear out most of the crap from the library/office and it looks great! There are still a few problem areas but overall I'm so pleased with the work that we have accomplished! It was very important for me to get the stuff off the floor so there is less worry for my 1 year old. I've decided not to do anything more until I tackle the basement, which is frightful!

I never thought that I would say this, but I really hope I don't sell anything for a couple of days as I really need to sort out the mess in the basement!

Crafty Room Challenge/Clean Up

Well I've been inspired yet again by my lovely Team! This room which is more of a library than a studio has been a sore spot in my house for almost 4 years! It was suppose to be my creative room but oh so quickly it has become my dumping ground! Anything business related that I would buy would litteraly get dumped in this room. Now this room was right off my side door(which is used as the front door) and I would always keep the door closed as well as the windows because I was too embarrased to have anyone see what a mess I was keeping.

Well after reading MollyLee's blog, I decided to do something about it! This challenge is on for 4 weeks but to be honest I need this done ASAP! I have a 1 year old that is getting into everything. I am going to set up shop in the basement which I'm not thrilled about but it has the most space to house everything. Once this room is cleared the real work will begin! I allowed myself a budget of $0 as I know underneath all this crap is storage containers and baskets which I've bought but could not find! I'm excited to finally get this room back!

Today is the last day of the challenge and I must say that it has been a bit difficult to keep up, but I'm really glad that I did. I enjoyed "meeting" the other participants and visiting their shop and finding out what kind of creations they make.

As I final farwell, I'm re-listing a "popular" item of mine. Now although I have not sold this item yet, it has many hearts, it made the front page (YEAH!!) and I've gotten some convo's from people saying that they really like this card. Now why has it not sold, I'm not sure but I'm keeping the faith.

Well I see the light at the end of the tunnel. Well I guess I don't need to be that dramatic as it has not been all that difficult to stick with this challenge. Happy Sunday to all!

I was finally able to finish up one of my current designs and I must say that I am quite please with the way it turned out! It is a sweet, simple, yet elegant shower card that features the guest of honors name in green writing, a corresponding green cardstock backing as well as a light green swarovski crystal. I have also paired this with matching thank you cards which I'm sure will make the guest of honor happy that they don't need to worry about thank you cards for their shower. This is available now in my shop in a lot of different colors, I'm offering it in pink, fushia, purple, lavender, blue, green, red....the color combination is endless.

This listing is all the help of my challenge without which I don't think that I would be able to get motivated enough to finish off some of my invites.

Today I'm up with the birds! My youngest daughter decided that she was not going back to sleep at 6:30am and I did not press the point. Today is Friday and I have quite a bit to do so I thought why not get a good head start on the day.

Listing Challenge Day 3

Today I'm a little late in doing my challenge post, but life got in the way of work!

I'm a SAHM of two very active girls and I like to keep them busy and happy.

Today was a whirlwind day of play, school, naps, food, errands, but it was no different than any other day, and I would not change it for the world! However sometimes it means that I'm not able to get done all that I need to, but I do try.

The girls are now fed and in there pj's, and hopefully getting sleepy, so that leaves me about 2min to myself before I hear the words "mommmmmmy" or hear a loud outburst only to find my 1 year old with a HUGE smile on her face.

This post is close to my heart as it is the invite that I used for my daughter's first birthday.

I was going to go with a teddy bear theme, but she's only 1 and I was having family over to celebrate so I decided on these super cute invites instead and I'm glad that I did.

New Greeting Cards

Is it Summer Yet?

We had some fantastic weather last week so I thought it was time to treat the girls to a day out on the town! That's right we hit the park in full force. It's been so long since weve been able to play outside that this was a real treat.

Both girls had an excellent time playing in the sand, going up and down the slide and of course the old favorite, the swing. Both my daughters could spend all day long on the swing. Of course my oldest does know that she's a big girl and should be on the big girl swing, but at times she must follow her baby sister.

I hope that this is a sign that summer is coming and we can all finally stop suffering from cabin fever and get outdoors and enjoy the nic warm weather.

New Year, New Look Part II

Well following along with my new look, new year mantra, I've decided to have the first thing my customers look at be a bit more professional. Although I'm pretty pleased with what I have come up with, I'm even happier with what a fellow etsian, Bitsy Creations has created for me!

I hope to have my new labels arrive really soon so that I can start using them all up!

I've also stream lined my shipping supplies so that I can hopefully not be searching all over the house for my supplies and packages can be sent out must faster. Every item will now ship in a bubble envelope, and I've got custom receipts also from a fellow artisan Purple Hug, that I just can't live without.

I'm also waiting for one other item that will put the finishing touches on each and every package. I'll reveal that once they arrive!

Babies are showing up everywhere and I love the way they feel, smell, and look!

Within the past year there have been 5 babies born, no not all to me, but I have contributed 1 of them I'm proud to say.

As everyone knows, with the arrival of a new little one comes gifts that will require a thank you card and I'm a firm beliver in sending out thank you notes for gifts received. Sometimes after the birth of a little one or two, the last thing on your mind is going out and looking for stationery, this is where I like to step in.

I have designed baby staionery for each of the mother's that I hope they will use and enjoy.

Look for them to make it into my shop real soon!

New Year, New Look

Colorful Circle Tags

As this is a new year I've decided to make some changes in my shop.

I love the was it looks, but I also know that there is also room for improvement.

I've started with my packaging. I've now changed the way I package my gift and journaling tags and I could not be happier with the outcome.

There was a slight printing error, I'm sure it was not my fault, so I've had to become creative. I don't think that it deters from my concept in any way.

I'll be sure to have it corrected when I do another run.

Next I'll take a look at my packaging for my multiple greeting cards.

A Dream of the Gym?

That's my home gym that gets little to no use!

The bad news is that I can't even feel assured that it's holding up my laundry as it's on a completely different level in my house.

Well I guess the good news is that I'm back in the gym (even if it's not my own), and as in "I'm back", I mean that I'm actually trying to go everyday. I was on quite a bit of a routine last year, but I got sick and the holidays came round and I abandoned my workouts. I was going to start back up again in January but I really hate going to a crowded gym so I figured if I started in Febuary all of the people who put "working out" on their New Year's resolution would be over it by then, and I think I was right.

I really don't like working out and I was one of those people with a great metabolism so I never had to work out but that was pre kids and also when I was in my 20's! I am now the proud mother of two daughters, out of my 20's and have to deal with an out of whack body.

Well as I was running on the threadmill I had a stricking thought, why don't I train for a marathon? Well then I did a bit of reasearch and saw how long a marathon was and realized that was not going to happen anytime soon, so I've decided to do 5km run in April. I think that this is doable as long as I stick with a program.

I'll keep you updated about my "training" haha

Winter Fun

Well this winter we were able to get our little one on skiis and she absolutely loved it!

I don't mean to sound like a bragging mom, but she was amazing! She was graceful, balanced, enthusastic and overall having a great time.

If you don't want to take my word for it, her instructor said that she was the best first time skiier she had ever seen in her 6 years of teaching!

We've gotten her out about 7 times and considering the hours and other obligations that we have going on, that is amazing! My husband has been going out with her and he is also enjoying getting back into skiing.

Now it's my turn. I'm unsure how I feel about being in the freezing cold and potentially being upstaged by a 3 year old. I will endure the elements because that's what mothers do.

Dinner and a Show

Well actually it was a show and then dinner!

My hubby purchased tickets for us to see Jersey Boys as a Christmas gift and today was the day of the show!

I really had no idea what the play was about so I was really just excited to be spending a few hours out of the house with no kiddos.

For those of you that don't know the show is about the life of Frankie Valli and the 4 Seasons.

I had no idea who they were or what they sang, but as the show progressed I found out that I did know quite a few of there songs and they were quite popular in there times.

The show was exciting, interesting and overall entertaining. I give it 2 thumbs up and suggest that if you are able to see the show that you do!

Onto the Etsy Front Page that is.

I can't believe that I made the front page and I missed it! I did not even know that I was listed in a treasury much less the front page!

I really only thought to check the flicker link because someone on Twitter was wondering where you go to check to see if you made the front page on Etsy, and I knew that I had it bookmarked, and to my shock and excitement I saw my beautiful Red Chair Greeting Cards listed.

Well I did not sell any of those beautiful cards, but it was great to be recognized on the front page, and a lot of people did view the card and my site so hopefully a few people will come back and order something!

Princesses

My 3.5 year old daughter went to a princess party after school!

It was the cutest site ever. 10 little girls dressed in their princess dress with their wands and tiaras/flower head bands, it was priceless!

The girls played nicely with each other and there was very little yelling, screaming or crying. I was in shock at how well behaved everyone was.

The party was a great success in my little girls eyes. She was very excited that she got to meet a "real" princess, Belle, from Beauty and the Beast. She even wanted to sleep in her dress, which I thought to myself why not, you're only a kid once!

I'm hopelessly, completely, and officially hooked!

I've even downloaded the app on my iphone so that I can twitter away wherever I am!

Well I'm not sure if you've heard about twitter, and if not, have you been living under a rock!?

It's the hottest way to communicate on the web in real time. I'm still pretty new to tweeting, but I'm slowly getting the hang of it. I've met a lot of nice people on there and it's a great venue for promoting my business and just general chatting!

Super Bowl Sunday

Well the day has finally arrived!

Thousands of sports fans and some non sports fans will be making there way today to the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa FL to see either the Steelers or the Cardinals in the 43rd annual Super Bowl. All information gathered from the internet!

I would have to say that I'm a non fan who gets caught up in the hype.

Normally on this day, I would prepare a bunch of food, chill the beer and hubby and I would sit and watch the game, well he'd watch the game and I'd be on my computer, however this year my hubby is off to Tampa Bay to see the game live. I am very excited for him, the atmosphere and vibe would be incredible. I've insisted that he text me every step of the way so that I can live vicariously through him. I'm sure that this will not go over to well with the other 30 guys that he's with, but oh well!

So I'm left to hold down the fort with the two kiddos and I'm not sure exactly what we'll do today. Finger painting, card making, online shopping, retail shopping, phone shopping, oh and of course watching the game(wink!)

UPDATE:

I just want to say that was a pretty exciting game! I watched it on and off and I'm glad that I did because there was some pretty incredible plays!

2008 was a great year up until December. December proved to be quite challenging for me and my family, there was a lot of ups and downs, and I'll have to say more downs than ups, but we have weathered through and have entered 2009 stronger and wiser.

I am glad to be able to resume with my regular schedule which will include:

updating my shop Pinky Creations with new and exciting products,

clearing out unused items from my studio at Pinky's Yummy Stuff,

updating my website, and

updating my blog!

I hope to make 2009 a fabulous year both personally and professionally!

I am so glad that I was able to get my act together and send in some samples for the Holiday Sampler of the Purple Box Sampler!

This is the sister site to the every popular The Sampler.

My New Favorite Season

When I was younger, Summer was my favorite time of year, and I'm sure that it had everything to do with the fact that school was over and I'd get to spend all my time hanging out with my friends, but as the years go by and the older I get, I'm starting to appreciate the wonders of Fall!

I really enjoy seeing the leaves change color and I'm starting to believe that this is really a time for change and new beginnings.

I like wearing jeans and turtleneck sweaters, light jackets and closed toe shoes. The air is fresh and crisp and you know that there are better things to come!

We visited a pumpkin patch with the girls and it was such a perfect and wonderful day!

The sun was shining and it was not too cold to be outdoors, it was busy but not too busy that you had to wait to go on the rides or use the activities.

We had a terrific day out!

Here's hoping for many more to come

It seems like the one thing that my house is missing is some artwork.

My husband and I have very different taste in artwork. He likes country themed images were-as I am more of a modernist. Because of our differences, we have not purchased any artwork for our home, but I think that these are winners that I'm sure we would both be able to agree with!

Can you believe it? I don't know where the year has gone.

Here at Pinky Creations, We are in full on Christmas making mode, (and by we I mean my husband and I, he's been know to step up to the plate if I've needed some cutting done). I've been thinking about Christmas since September, but have been very slow moving on getting projects done and listed in my shop.

I introduced this lovely mitten garland late last year and while it did very well, I felt that I could have done even better with sales, had I listed it earlier in my shop!
